So now I can say that I’ve read this one This point leads us into the next idea about J. For me, this book was a complete waste of time.

In my opinion it’s not about that Holden does’nt want to grow up, he know that ge is growing up right now and he sees how painful and hard it is, so he wants to protect heg little kid from what he finds so harmful. His constant repetition, whining, stating that he was depressed, stating that something ‘kills him’, etc.
It suggests a grasp of society and of human nature grazn about as complex as an episode of Dawson’s Creek. I haven’t seen that movie in years, so I may be wrong.
De vanger in het graan by J.D. Salinger (2 star ratings)
If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you’ll probably want to know is where I was born and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don’t feel like going into it, if you want to know hrt truth. I’m giving two stars, as I’m feeling generous today. Het boek speelt zich af in de donkere dagen rond Kerstmis in New York, als Holden wegens slechte prestaties van school is gestuurd maar het niet aan zijn ouders durft te vertellen.
This book wouldn’t work with a bubbly, sweet main character anyway. Salinger became reclusive, publishing new work less frequently. People have said you have to identify with Holden in order to understand the book, but I don’t think identifying with him is a good thing at all.
We take vangfr seriously in our discussion boards. We always talked about how we’re supposed to talk about and reflect how literature affects us in school.
hrt If I didn’t vangger it obvious already, I did not like the book that much, or, to be more exact, I did not like Holden. Published by Meulenhoff first published July 16th The name field is required. Of course, when you realize Tucker Max probably felt the same way you immediately bathe in bromine and shave what remains of gran flesh completely bald to scour the scourge as thoroughly as humanly possible.

Omdat het toch bijna kerstvakantie is, besluit hij een paar dagen alleen in New York door te brengen. Holden is like a female version of Bella Swan. Every time someone finishes this book and puts it down thoughtfully, tilting their head in mock understanding as they grwan their childish brows, Satan laughs and high fives J.
He is a tragic victim of the crappy world in which he has no control and where no one understands him.
The Catcher In The Rye
Salinger ; for all his painful self-consciousness, Holden Caulfield is not really self-aware. Well, clan isn’t near pejorative enough. This book was just one sign of the impending cultural revolution. It’s funny really, I was discussing this book with my Dad in the car a couple of days ago, and I mentioned to him that I’m pretty shocked that this book is deemed a “classic” My Dad informed me he only read this book, and saw it though to the end, just to say he’d read it.

I won’t be getting into the synopsis because there wasn’t much of a story, to begin with. Find a copy in the library Finding libraries that hold this item In Salinger released his novel The Catcher in the Ryean immediate popular success. The success of The Catcher in the Rye led to public attention and scrutiny: After all, Holden’s indictment of society boils down to the “insight” that everybody is a phony. The plot is so fuzzy and flat I couldn’t tell when to peak my interest.
Linked Data More info about Linked Data. My ode to The Catcher in the Rye. His last published work, a novella entitled “Hapworth 16, “, appeared in The New Yorker on June 19, The writer did an amazing job drawing his protagonist’s character, Holden reminded me a lot of my teenage brother, but he didn’t build on that personality, he didn’t help us understand it and didn’t even give it a chance to grow.
The …more It’s not about the story. Heb je een aanvulling op dit verslag? It’s boring, and it, like Holden, is unbelievably and painfully repetitive. Whilst I can almost put some of this in to context because of the time it was written when it was “okay” to be homophobic and sexistI can’t understand how in this day and age you can sit there and go “man, I get this character”.
